6 Weeks Old...already!

So I guess pretty soon I am going to have to stop updating this thing so often, but for now Sydney is still growing and changing so quickly!  She is tracking movement with her eyes and turning her head to the sound of our voices.  Dan and I are constantly amazed by her perfection and by how God has blessed our lives by the addition of Sydney to our family.

On Sunday, August 3rd, we decided to take a "family day trip" to Rosy Mound Natural Area on Lake Michigan, just south of Grand Haven. After a short hike through the woods and over the sand dune, we relaxed on the beach for a while - me in the sun, and Dan and Sydney in the shade of the umbrella.

Finally, a photo with Mom!  I am usually the one behind the camera...

A little cross-eyed maybe, but still so cute!

Cute when she's soothed.....

....and even when she's upset!

One of Sydney's first "play dates" with friends Victoria and Jannika, and her first time dipping her feet in the swimming pool.  Unfortunately, I am such a novice at this blog thing that I can't figure out how to turn this photo the vertical direction!

Week 5

This week we had a few more out-of-town visitors, including Grand Uncle Phil, Great Grandma Bep, cousin Sam, and friends Eric and So Hang. Sydney continues to be more alert, sleeping less and waking more! Looking back at previous weeks' photos, she has already changed considerably.  Time is really flying.

Big yawn!

Sleepy look-alikes:

So sleepy:

Sydney has her party dress on and was already pooped before we even left!  She slept through the entire party, despite being passed around.

Week 4

We can hardly believe that Sydney is one month old already!  She seems like such a big girl and so different from the day we brought her home from the hospital.  She has changed in so many ways!  This past week we got to spend some time with Oma Linda who came to help out, Aunt Jenn, Uncle Aaron & the gang who were here from California, and Grandma Bep too.  Of course we adore her and still can't help taking daily photos of her stunningly beautiful and perfect face and body, so here are a few peeks from Sydney's 4th week of life:

Sydney is always happy when on her changing table, and she is starting to make lots of eye contact and respond to smiling with smiles of her own!

Happy baby!

Sporting her new pink kicks that Daddy bought (a little big yet but we couldn't wait to try them on her....maybe next summer she can wear them):

Week 3

Nana and Grandpa came for a visit and to help out for the week.  We spent a lot of time relaxing, working on the swimming pool, and grilling some great dinners.  We are so blessed to have such a large extended family!  Here's a few photos of what we did this week:
