We spent the first weekend in June camping at P.J. Hoffmaster State Park, and although there was a chance of thunderstorms predicted, the weathermen were wrong as usual -- we experienced perfect camping weather and had a wonderful time camping as a family of 5!
And the gate once again proved itself to be a wonderful investment!
Dan grilling kabobs over the campfire - yum!
Sydney enjoying her first s'more of the season
Sydney longingly watching the 15+ children playing together at the adjoining sites (camping with 7 dads and no moms!). Anyone want to plan this adventure for the husbands and our kids?
Our first beach day was windy in the morning but sunny and warm by the afternoon, so we were a little unprepared with the swimsuits. Swimming conditions weren't the best so we stayed out of the water and played in the sand. We learned that Asher loves the sand, but Geneva would rather keep her feet out of the stuff even though she is perfectly willing to pour it all over the beach sheet.
Beach day #2 was spent down at the state park after we checked out of the campground. With such perfect weather and a green flag for beach conditions, Sydney couldn't resist getting into the cold water (60ish degrees!).
What a wonderful family weekend we had! We are really looking forward to all the adventures this summer has to bring us. But for now it's back to the grind....the pool...the landscaping....the mountains of laundry that smell like campfire. Ugh.
p.s. Let's see if I can get a video to upload here:
