Camping with Friends - Van Buren State Park

We were blessed to spend another summer vacation with our good friends the VandenBosches, Marcusses, and Morris'.  This year we decided to try camping.  3 trailers and one tent and we were set to go! We spent 4 nights at Van Buren State Park in South Haven and only had to endure one thunderstorm (thanks to our friends with trailers we stayed dry).  For the most part, we had beautiful weather which was perfect for playing in the middle of the road, biking, and the beach.  And so many other fun activites too. Thanks for the memories, friends!

Helping Daddy fix up the bikes
Snacking (lots of snacking)
Playing Play-doh
Just relaxing
Decorating bikes with crepe paper and beads
Painting rocks
Riding bikes and trikes

Enduring one thunderstorm
Picking blueberries
Bike trips to the beach
Making s'mores
And snuggling in the tent

Feel the Love

"Aren't they supposed to love each other?" Dan asked me the other day.  Well, yes, they do, but two one-year-olds under one roof, day after day, playing with one set of toys...there are bound to be moments.  So I thought I should try and catch one of their little tiffs on camera.  This particular argument was over Cheerios...which we have MILLIONS of in this house!  Go figure.
(Someone's little grin is changing rapidly with the addition of two oversized front teeth!)
It must have been a humid evening because we have some great hair do's happening here.  Also, can you tell who's the fiestier one of this duo?

Wedding Festivities

On our first weekend in California we celebrated my cousin Justiss' wedding, with the reception settled in a beatiful almond orchard and dancing by chandelier in a rustic barn.  Below are a couple photos of my immediate family and our table of cousins.

We ended our trip with a wedding weekend celebrating my sister Karinne and new brother-in-law Joseph at Lazy Z Resort in Twain Harte.  Located in the Sonora foothills, this was such a beautiful site for a wedding!  We spent Friday swimming in the resort's beautiful pool and feasting on rehearsal dinner, Saturday was wedding day, and we also had Sunday at the pool to wind down.  Despite 95+ degrees during the 3:30pm ceremony, we all survived the heat (barely) to enjoy a delicious dinner with Its Its ice cream sandwiches for dessert, hilarious speeches with wonderful memories of Karinne and Joseph, dancing to music by the Reed Frommer Band, and a wild after party.  Congratulations to you, Joseph and Karinne, and may God bless your marriage!  Hope you're having a great time in Bali.  :)
