February...is it Spring yet?

More indoor activities to share! Let's start with a video of Sydney at soccer (unfortunately the one I really wanted to post seems to be too large, so this one will have to do)...
And this is Sydney's rendering of Curious George, thanks to the how-to video at the end of the George movie. Not bad - I was impressed!
And here we have the first time I ever saw Sydney write out her whole name!
And the rest is pure goofiness. Yes, they're eating bread. As if dinner weren't just 30 minutes ago.
I really wish a few more of these tub photos were G-rated. The kids were getting pretty nutty that night, as you can probably tell.

This photo of the girls reading together is precious, but I'm not really sure why they had to pile EVERY toy we own behind them first.
Devouring some ladybug pancakes that Daddy made - isn't he the best?

January 2012

Not unlike December, we spent January doing a lot of indoor activities.  Even though the snow this year has been minimal, it still isn't ideal outdoors weather for little people, so we have been busy reading, playing games, watching movies/shows, playing in the tubby, etc.
Another fun indoor activity that we started in January was a 6-week soccer "camp" for Sydney. She got to do it with her neighbor friend, Sophie, and that was really cute to watch.  They learned drills to help them dribble and stop the ball and learned some kicking too. When I get a chance, I hope to upload some little videos to the blog (maybe next month!), but for now these photos are pretty cute:
Sydney celebrated her half-birthday at preschool with jello treats and a week with Birthday Bear:
On January 25 we celebrated the birthday of our loving daddy & husband!  We treated him to a homemade steak dinner and a chocolate-peanut butter ice cream cake concoction that was a big hit with the whole family!  I do have to mention as well that Dan surprised me with a birthday dinner of my own...all the details from the babysitter to the restaurant and even our friends being there too, he did a fantastic job keeping it all a secret! Thank you, honey!
In January we also celebrated the life of Grandpa Schweyer who passed away at the age of (almost) 92.  He had a full and happy life and we are thankul he is rejoicing in heaven nowl; we were able to spend some wonderful family time together remembering him.  It is always special to get the cousins together, allowing them to know each other better and strengthen their bonds too!
Uncle Fred reading stories to the little ladies:
Watching books on the iPad with Auntie Renee:
Morning cartoons & snacks (gotta love those iPads!):
Emerson & his "entourage:"
 Squeezing into the table fort:
Sydney & Leah getting crazy in the snow:
Now off to catch up on February!
