What We've Been Up To - July 2011

Fighting over the blue car
Eating lots of snacks
Doing our share of swimming
Visiting with Nana & Grandpa

(from L to R: Evelyn, Geneva, Sydney, Grandpa, Asher, Leah, Nana & Emerson)
and with Uncle Fred, Auntie Sarah & cousin Leah
More driving in the blue car
Lots of chalking

Playing ring around the rosie with cousins
Learning to draw
More swimming
Dressing up
Resting in the shade
Staying hydrated
Learning to kick in the pool
Even more driving in the blue car
Picnicking
Loving on our new nephew/cousin, Emerson

Screaming & giggling like little girls do

And doing some of our new favorites, like hoarding babies

and checking out whatever is on the computer screen whenever he can

Oh, and did I mention packing?  There's been a lot of that lately too (and not a lot of housework)!  On Friday we head to California for two weddings.  We are so excited for this trip to see all our family on the west coast and to participate in and celebrate Karinne & Joseph's wedding!

Sydney's First Haircut

On Saturday morning, I took Sydney to get her very first haircut at Snip-Its!  She has been asking for quite a few months now to get her hair cut, so I figured since she is 3 years old maybe it was about time.  While we didn't really do more than a trim, there is a new bounce to her curls and it looks great!

Sydney is 3!

I know I'm a bit far behind in blogging, but we actually did celebrate Sydney's third birthday before our trip to Winnipeg last week. Sydney also had her 3-year checkup with her wonderful pediatrician.  Smart as a whip, of course, she passed the hearing test done for 4-year-olds, talked the doctor's ear off, cooperated beautifully.  She was especially happy to not receive any needles this year!  Our big 3-year-old weighs 29 lbs, 6 oz, and is 38.25" tall.

Sydney's birthday was a chaotic morning of toddlers/ preschoolers...Auntie Renee's last minute labor antics....and packing for our trip, but I think Sydney had fun! We partied fairy-style and basked in the pink glow of cupcakes, watermelon and sandwiches. Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!

Oh, and I almost forgot the best birthday present of all: a new cousin, Emerson Morris, to share her birthday with. :)
